PC Gaming – Then and Now
The games industry is an ever changing beast, this is even more true of the PC market, with hardware updates being made available with alarming frequency and graphics which can and often do improve year on year. But how much have the games them selves changed?
Today we are going to take a look at three gaming franchises, Battlefield, Elder Scrolls, Need for Speed, partly because they are games that were around 10 years ago and are still around now, making them great for this comparison, but mostly because these games were the some the biggest games of 2002, just as their modern counterparts are now in 2012.
I’m looking past the fact that not all these games were released in exactly 2002 and 2012, focusing more on games that were/are available to play in those respective years, so lets check out the trailers, gameplay videos, and system requirements for the games from 2002 and the ones from 2012 starting with Battlefield 1942.
quality little article there mate, well done, it was interesting, especially the battlefield one for me, you could of even covered grand theft auto from the top down view to what it is now ^^
Its an interesting read but i personally would of tried to get more franchises in there such as GTA, CoD, MoH, CSS, Total War, Sim City, Starcraft, Warcraft, C&C and Civilization.
