Batman – The Telltale Series Hammered on Steam

The first episode of Batman – The Telltale Series launched today, to mostly positive reviews, but players of the PC version have attacked the game on Steam, branding it “buggy,” “unplayable,” and “100% broken.”
“What’s with Batman games on PC being so buggy?” writes user satchow on the game’s Steam page, no doubt referring to last year’s infamous Batman: Arkham Knight.
“Great start guys,” MuskySlyStoat says. “[Haven’t] even started the game yet and resolution is an issue, try to set to any res higher than 720p, your mouse gets held ransom in an invisible box at the top left of the screen.”
“Game is 100% broken as of launch,” according to Cerberus30. “You could have a PC built by Jesus Christ himself and this game still will run at 10fps, a floaty cursor, and be completely unplayable at the LOWEST settings. DO NOT BUY THIS GAME.”
“Dialogue is out of sync, lagging like hell, not more [than] 10 FPS, Resolution problems,” reports Blazebolt7. “In short don’t buy it. At least wait for a fix.”
“I’ve never experienced this type of lag before,” Marina complains. “The game is simply unplayable.
Needs some serious improvements before considering buying it.”
At the time of writing, Batman – The Telltale Series has 205 negative reviews out of 457 reviews on Steam.
Sadly, Telltale Games has become as famous for releasing buggy games as it has for reinventing the adventure game. Telltale’s episodic adaptations of The Walking Dead, Game of Thrones, The Wolf Among Us, and Tales from the Borderlands have all suffered significant issues, including crashes, lagging, and save failures.
