‘Bioshock Collection’ Could be Heading to PS4 And Xbox One

The South African retailer, Raru has listed ‘The Bioshock Collection’ for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One with a release date of November 27th 2015. As with any unannounced retailer listings, it’s important to air on the side of caution with the release date which could simply be a placeholder. This would also explain the price which converted equates to £122. Nevertheless, it seems plausible enough given the huge success of Bioshock, Bioshock 2 and Bioshock Infinite. The current console generation has suffered from a distinct lack of new titles and overly relied on HD remasters.
I expect the package to include all Bioshock games and the DLC but I’m not entirely convinced about Bioshock Infinite running at 1080p/60fps. It’s a possibility, but the current crop of consoles are quite mediocre in the horsepower department. Whatever the case, I’m a massive fan of the Bioshock franchise and love the atmospheric, single-player focus. While the gunplay could be better, there are very few games which can match each game’s enriching narrative. In an ideal world, I would love to see the first game remade from scratch, with high-resolution textures.
Raru has been a fairly reliable source of leaks before, and this latest piece of information is no different. It’s great to see more games on the current consoles but as a PC player it seems bizarre to re-purchase titles you have already paid for which actually look worse than the original PC version.
What is your favourite Bioshock game and why?
