Kingston announced that their newest SSD has started shipping, and it is the fastest in the entire HyperX line-up. The new SSD is M.2. based but can be had with an optional half-height, half-length (HHHL) PCIe adapter card that comes with both a normal and a low profile bracket. The new Predator doesn’t just look sweet with its large black sticker on top, it also delivers great speeds up to 1400MB/s at reading and 1000MB/s writing.
The HyperX Predator is built around the PCIe Gen 2.0 x4 interface and is powered by a Marvell 88SS9293 SSD controller. There are only two choices capacity wise and you can get the HyperX Predator PCIe SSD as either a 240GB or 480GB model.
When it comes to the price, then you might already have guessed that it won’t come cheap. Overclockers UK has the drives listed as pre-order at the time of writing, starting at £209.99 for the 240GB and £419.99 for the 480GB M.2 models. If you’d like to have the optional PCIe adapter bracket, you’ll have to pay another £10 on top of each.
