Inno3D was one of the first AIB partners to tease their GTX 1080 solutions. While we weren’t able to discern too much from the teaser images, we finally have the real thing in front of us. According to Inno3D, there will be 4 variants, with the base iChill x3 and X4 cards as weel as their respective GamingOC variants with factory overclocks applied.
Last week, we saw the release of their new iChill x3 and X4 cooling solutions and we can see the practical results in front of us. The X4 has the standard 3 mains fans but it also sports the additional 50mm fan on the side for extra VRM cooling. While it does look a bit awkward, it will be hidden from view once installed and it isn’t too obstructive. You can also see the new turbine fan blades as well which provide better performance. Both cards also feature the new controllable LED lighting that responds to GPU load.
With the X3, we have the same 3 fans but they use Scythe fan blades for quieter operation. Just like the X4, the card features 8 + 6 pin power connectors for extra overclocking performance. Somewhat surprisingly, Inno3D opted for a 6+1 phase design but that should be fine as quality phases are more important than quantity. No clock speed information has been released. The cards will be displayed at Computex so stay tuned for more information!
