Microsoft Starts iPad Trade-In Campaign – Store Vouchers For Old iPads

Microsoft has launched a brand new campaign in the USA to try and boost sales of Surface RT and Surface Pro tablets – this time by taking aim at competitors Apple and their iPads. Microsoft is offering consumers who trade in an Apple iPad 2, 3 or 4 (note the iPad 1 or iPad Mini are not included) a minimum of a $200 voucher to spend in the Microsoft store. The campaign will run until October 27th and with the second generation Surface products launching before then Microsoft is hoping consumers will take this as an opportunity to ditch the iPad and jump onboard with the new generation of Surface tablets.
Of course the $200 voucher is only for the Microsoft store so you might not choose to buy a Surface tablet but instead something else they sell. Microsoft’s second generation Surface tablets are expected to be unveiled on September 23rd. If you’ve got an old iPad 2, 3 or 4 that you don’t use any more this could be a decent incentive to grab yourself a new Surface tablet. Of course in most cases you’d probably be able to make more money by just selling your old iPad yourself and buying anything you want with that money – i.e. not being limited to only products from the Microsoft store.
