Bulldozer is a sales success, Phenom and Athlon production suffer

Bulldozer has certainly been a slight let down in terms of its performance but that aside sales would suggest otherwise. AMD’s Bulldozer processors are selling out within days of most shops and retailers acquiring stock even though some of the models aren’t priced competitively if you consider Intel’s offerings at the same price point (i.e. FX 8150 vs 2500k).
According to Nordic Hardware Phenom II and Athlon II production has taken a substantial hit as AMD’s producers rush to fill Bulldozer demand by sacrificing the 45nm process in favour of the 32nm one. AMD has already stated it will stop shipping all 45nm Athlon II and Phenom II processors with the exception of the 960T processor (a quad core processor with 2 inactive cores, potential unlocking capabilities). Therefore the key thing to take here is if you want to get your hands on an Athlon II or Phenom II processor, even though prices are very low they will not last much longer so do it sooner rather than later.
