Computex 2024:

This is a tough Computex for GPU brands, given that there are no new chipsets on the market, there’s not a whole lot of “new” stuff to push, but with AI becoming a massive focus for GPU hardware, it makes sense that they would be demonstrating what you can do with AI using their cards.

The Nvidia ACE technology is pretty incredible, I’ve seen demos online, but I’ve never gotten hands on with it before. I interacted with the on screen character for a while, talking about how Andy hurt his ankle while on our trip to Taiwan, only for him to throw back this information later in the conversation, it felt very natural, and I can’t wait to see this roll out into real world games in the near future.

We could see Chat RTX running the backend of this, all powered on their RTX 4090 graphics card on the system at the booth, rather than in the cloud as these technologies would have done in the past.

For their GPU line up, it’s made up of all the usual RTX 4000 series chipsets and variants, with the only exception being a unique RTX 3050 card in the bottom left corner. However, they’ve all big given a bit of an overhaul, with new coolers and somewhat more compact designs on the higher-end cards vs their launch variants.

The new RTX 4070 and 4060 feature the new and improved DUAL cooler design, with a pair of larger fans for lower noise and bigger airflow. Then there’s the single fan StormX 4060 and Ti variant, which are ideal for compact and mini-ITX based system.

The much larger JetStream is focused on big performance, with an oversized cooler ensuring you can push those gaming boost clocks without compromise.

The Gaming Pro series is more visually appealing, with a more unique heatsink and backplate combination, but otherwise, still features the same triple fan design as the more affordable JetStream series.

And then we have their glitzy flagship with the GameRock RTX 4090 being one of the most unique looking graphics cards on the market right now.

One of my favourites, however, is the low-powered and affordable GeForce RTX 3050 which comes with a passive heatsink design for completely silent performance. For compact work stations, home made NAS or project systems, these are fantastic, and uhm, fan-less.

These need little explanation, they’re the cards we know and love, but now available in white.

This includes the 4060 Ti, 4070 and the 4070 Ti.
