PowerColor Releases RX 470 Red DRAGON

Right from the start, PowerColor introduced their impressive RX 470 Red Devil which we got a chance to take a closer look at. To supplement their top RX 470 graphics card, PowerColor is introducing a lower tier product that will likely hit the MSRP much better. Dubbed the PowerColor RX 470 Red Dragon, we’re now getting the first details about the card.
Unlike the Red Devil which sports a decent factory overclock over the reference models, the Red Dragon is much more pedestrian with 1210 MHz core boost clock, and 6.60 GHz (GDDR5-effective), the same speeds as the reference models., In fact, the Red Dragon appears to be pretty much a non-factory overclocked version of the Red Devil. This suggests a lower price that likely puts the card under the $200 mark and closer to MSRP.
There are a number of notable differences though just from a surface glance so be warned before you try to turn your dragon into a devil. The card is limited by a 6pin PCIe power connector instead of the 8pin on the Devil and the cooler has white instead of red highlights. Given that, we can expect even more changes underneath and hidden from view until an adventurous user takes the card all apart.
