Red Dead Redemption 2 to be Announced at E3?

According to rumour, Rockstar is set to reveal its sequel to Wild West open world shooter Red Dead Redemption at E3 this Summer. I know, we’ve been here before: the very same report emerged around the same time last year, and nothing happened. But, according to a Fraghero source, Red Dead Redemption 2 has been in secret production for years and is due for release in 2017.
“Fraghero received an email from a reader who wishes to remain anonymous claiming that the game has been in development for over 4 years and is in fact called Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends Of The West,” the post reads. “He also claimed that the game will be coming out in the fall of 2017 and Rockstar Games is going to announce it during E3 (which takes place in June) this year. He informed us that the game is going to contain more than one playable character and feature a much bigger open world than the last Red Dead title.”
We do know that Rockstar intends to produce a sequel to the critically-acclaimed game at some point, with Strauss Zelnick, CEO of Take-Two, revealing last year:
“I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent. It’s obvious that GTA is a permanent franchise as long as we keep delivering this incredible quality; it seems quite obvious that Red Dead is a permanent franchise, again with the same caveat, or Borderlands, for example, and NBA and others.”
This latest rumour, unverified as it is, could well be a fabrication, but that doesn’t mean RDR2 won’t be revealed at E3. Even a stopped clock is right twice a day.
