Roccat Savu Mid-Size Hybrid Gaming Mouse Review

Performance
A few performance tests allowed the Savu to show its true colours, a low lift off height at stock settings that was perfect for a lift-off style of gameplay, zero prediction / angle snapping was found and acceleration tests showed that the sensor could withstand some pretty severe and fast movements across my desk without loosing any tracking, in short, this sensor is truly epic. The Omron switches are gorgeous too and every click feels responsive and quick, but not so light that you miss click every time you give the mouse a wobble.
This accuracy was immediately reflected in gameplay, Battlefield 3 was a great test ground and while I missed a few head shots, I’m certain it was my ability that let me down, not the Savu. A few games of League of Legends and for a bit of a change even a little Mass Effect 3 all proved a pleasure with the Savu.
The software only pushed this further as the Shift+ function gave me access to more short cuts and macros than I’ll ever need, even a hardcore WoW player will blush at how many you can setup, complete overkill really but it’s better to have them and not need them than it is to need them and not have them. This was pushed even further by the Roccat ISKU FX keyboard I use as the Shift + and macro functions can be combined between the two.
The software is extremely customisable, but since the mouse has internal memory it works great without the software, or you can at least upload your favourite settings to the mouse and take your settings with you.
