Total War fans will be thrilled to find out that SEGA and The Creative Assembly recently announced the next installment in the renowned strategy game series. Unlike its predecessors, Total War: Warhammer will deliver a unique high fantasy experience, which means that regular soldiers will be accompanied by flying creatures, large monsters and lots of magic. The campaign for the upcoming game will be focused on a harsh place called the Old World, which will allow the player to engage in deadly conflict or forge alliances whenever possible. Playable races include the men of the Empire led by Karl Franz, the Greenskins commanded by Grimgor Ironhide, the Dwarfs ordered by High King Thorgrim and the Vampire Counts led by Mannfred von Carstien.
“Whichever race you choose to play as and however you seek conquest, you will be faced with a conflict that threatens to tear the very fabric of reality asunder.”
Total War: Warhammer is being designed to provide hundreds of hours of gameplay, and it will be followed up by two standalone installments. The game’s announcement was accompanied by the release of a cinematic trailer, which you can view right now by clicking below.
The Creative Assembly’s latest title, Total War: Attila received positive reviews from critics and has been generally received with open arms by fans. Do you think that Warhammer will enjoy the same popularity?
