Turok Remastered Gameplay Trailer and a Release Date Revealed!

turok remastered

First-person shooter game Turok was released originally in 1997 for home computers and Nintendo 64 consoles, and its story was based on a time-travelling dinosaur hunter. The game was followed by a series of sequels and spinoffs that culminated with a complete reboot in 2008. However, Night Dive Studios has decided that the original Turok: Dinosaur Hunter deserves a carefully done remaster, which is scheduled to arrive on Steam, Humble Bundle and GOG on December 17. Apparently, the classic game “has been restored and enhanced with a new visual engine and exciting new features,” which means that it will most likely cope with higher resolutions and improved framerates. The textures look pretty much the same if I’m honest, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing as it allows the game to maintain its original feel.

I think it’s great that older games are receiving some attention so many years after their initial release dates. Games have come such a long way over the last few years, but it’s still nice to go back to the old titles from time to time in order to remember their origins. Aside from revealing the release date, Night Dive Studios has also released a gameplay trailer for Turok Remastered, which you can see below.
