£1,400 Gold-Plated Putin-Edition Nokia 3310 Goes on Sale

Russian custom smartphone seller Caviar Phones is known for their ostentatious and often questionable taste is at it again with the release of a £1,400 gold-lated Putin-Edition Nokia 3310. This is the new relaunched Nokia 3310 and not the nigh-indestructible original. The new 3310 features a 2.4-inch QVCA display, a 2-megapixel camera and a microSD slot, but the Caviar Phone version adds a golden bass relief bust of the Russian president and a small embedded plaque at the bottom quoting the Russian national anthem. The entire body has been covered with a mesh-type engraving for grip and gold plated touches are added on the home button (with the Russian coat of arms embossed).
Obviously if there was no market for their wares they will not stay in business but apparently there is enough demand for it since they are still around for almost a decade now. For those not feeling particularly patriotic for the Russian president, a Titano Edition is also available, apparently similarly symbolizing strength like the Putin-Edition model but in a more toned down, albeit classy, metallic pattern. For those with grander taste and deeper pockets, Caviar Phones also offers customized gold-covered iPhone 7 and iPhone7s for £3000 with similar Putin-Edition designs as well.
Caviar Phones is an offshoot of Italian Perla Penna Jewelry after they were purchased and moved to Russia. Much of the Italian design team remains with the company and continues to create luxury smartphone products but now tailored to the Russian market. Other than custom luxury smartphones and smartwatches, Caviar also offers various luxury phone-related accessories and even a golden airsoft handgun replica of a Makarov pistol.
