Overview
The 1MORE Comfobuds are the headphones I would buy with my own money with a budget of around £60, and I think that’s pretty high praise, given there are so many options on the market. However, as of today, I will be switching my recommendation to the 1MORE Comfobuds 2! They’re still the same great headphones that I know and love, but 1MORE has clearly listened to user feedback and has given them a fantastic refresh that will keep them relevant in a continuously competitive and developing market.
The new and improved ergonomics not only look great, but the headphones are noticeably more comfortable. However, I do appreciate the replaceable tips now too, it improves the fit, but also makes them a little bit easier to clean and maintain. Add to that the durable dock, improved battery life, Bluetooth 5.2, and IPX5 waterproofing, and it adds up to a very well made product. However, I should stress that the headphones are IPX5 rated, the dock is not waterproof, so if it rains, keep that in your pocket.
The sound quality was already great on the old model, so I’m glad to see 1MORE hasn’t tinkered with something that wasn’t broken. Those massive 13.4mm dynamic drivers really do pack a punch, and they’re actually rather surprising given the small size and weight (4.3g each) of the earbuds. However, the new addition of the 12 Professional EQ Presets, tuned by a 4-time Grammy Award-winning sound engineer with Sonarworks, is certainly welcome. It’s more thought out than just sticking the usual EQ templates on there, and the results are profound.
Should I Buy Them?
1MORE has taken some truly impressive headphones to the next level. For most users, the massively improved battery life and the advantages of super-fast charging will be the most welcome features. However, a powerful set of EQ profiles, improved ergonomics, replaceable tips, the easy to use touch controls, smart play/pause, and the IPX5 all add up to a great user experience that far outpaces the very reasonable price tag. The ComfoBuds were hard to beat, but the ComfoBuds 2 exceeded my expectations. Highly recommended.
