How Much Does it Cost?
The 1More Pistonbuds are available now, albeit stock seems to be an issue in the UK. However, Black Friday, a pandemic and Brexit offer up plenty of reasons why stock may be out. So keep an eye on their Amazon UK store here. However, in the US, you can snap them up for just $49.99. No seriously, that’s the price… bargain!
Overview
I test a lot of headsets and headphones here at eTeknix, over the last decade, I wouldn’t be surprised if it was around 500+, if not more. With that in mind, I can honestly say that the 1More Pistonbuds are some of the best headphones I’ve ever tested. They have no business being this good at such a ridiculously affordable price.
Are they studio-quality drivers? No. Are they perfectly balanced and tuned? No. Are they carved from space-age alloys, offer next-gen drivers with Hi-Res support, and all the latest formats… nope. However, as subjective as this is, anyone who’s tried this set, along with myself, of course, we’ve all agreed. They just sound GREAT! It’s just got that sweet spot of delivering a big full-bodied sound that really makes your music get your foot tapping. I can’t say fairer than that.
Wireless has come a heck of a long way in recent years. These are pretty flawless, and once paired with my phone, I was able to wander around the office with no issues on the signal. The fact that they’ve crammed the drivers, wireless hardware, batteries, microphones and more all packed into each earbud is remarkable too. Getting a few hours performance on a single charge is stunning, and they charge up fairly swiftly in the dock too.
1More has a solid reputation of premium designs, excellent build quality and flagship performance. Despite these being some of their more affordable headphones to date, they still uphold their reputation in every respect. Sure, the enthusiasts out there may still want their £200+ quad-driver, titanium construction flagships, but honestly, SERIOUSLY, these affordable ones really do give sets that cost double, even triple the price, a solid rivalry.
