Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD – XBLA/PSN Summer 2012
This game release is to be a HD mash-up of the original two games in the Hawks series, some of the finest in the series, I personally lost interest after Skate was released all those years ago, let alone the absurd Skateboard controller they introduced to Tony Hawk, which was beyond enough for me to look away from the series. That being said I really can’t wait to play these classic levels again, all combined into a “greatest hits” version.
Activitison: “Tapping into fans’ muscle memories, the gameplay in Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD returns to controllers and focuses on the satisfaction of linking sick tricks for maximum points. Combining sharp visuals with the best controls ever in a Tony Hawk game, the feel is cutting edge yet timeless.”
The Game has been rebuilt and polished by Robomodo using Neversoft’s original code. The style and feel of the best 7 levels from THPS and THPS2, which have been refreshed for modern consoles, all of which Tony Hawk himself asked his Twitter followers to help pick. Some of the biggest skate pros make up the cast, including: Nyjah Huston, Chris Cole, Eric Koston, Andrew Reynolds, Rodney Mullen, Lyn-z Adams Hawkins (Pastrana), Riley Hawk and, of course, Tony Hawk himself. Ok so I have only heard of 3 of them, but I’m sure some of you will be happy for their inclusion.
The controls, Skaters’ animations, tricks and combos are said to now reflect the evolution of the THPS games. For example, you can do manuals in levels from the first THPS, a trick that didn’t enter the franchise until THPS2.
Let’s hope all the usual level achievements and soundtracks make return along with it.
