2012 – The year of the HD re-releases

Final Fantasy X – PS3/Vita 2012
Following the announcement of Final Fantasy X HD from Square Enix at the 2011 Tokyo Games Show, the gaming community was immediately excited about rumours of this title being a full remake using the FF-XIII game engine, but the Final Fantasy 10 HD remake for Vita and PlayStation 3 is in fact more of a re-master.
Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto: “The game is being developed like a high-definition re-master, but the visuals will look much better compared to the original,” he told Taiwanese gaming site Gamer.”
Hashimoto’s “re-master” comment confirms Final Fantasy 10 on Vita and PS3 will be akin to the HD updates of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Beyond that there are a lot of rumours surrounding the details of this game, which until confirmed I won’t be posting here, but safe to say FFX is my top choice for HD re-releases in 2012.
