I’ve been looking for a quality projector at a wallet-friendly price for a long time. To be absolutely blunt, I think the projector market is a dumpster fire of misleading information and outright lies. Buying something good is bloody hard work these days as brands claim specifications that simply are not true. This is a shame, as it seems brands like Yaber, who from my own testing have been completely honest, often get overlooked! This projector is bigger and more capable than it looks though, and ideal for cinema lovers wanting a big screen experience at home.
It offers mobile, WiFi, USB and HDMI connectivity, meaning you can quickly get your media up and running. With a built-in camera on the front, it has a fantastic auto-focus feature, just point it at the screen and it kicks in to give you the best picture. I did have to manually tweak it once, but it’s easily done, and it has a pretty robust keystone (4-point) and scaling feature too.
At just 2.5m away I was able to get a 100″ projection, however, my screen was only 80″ and I had to scale it down. Still, for a full HD image, this is plenty, and it made for a great movie night compared to my 46″ 4KTV.
650 lumens was plenty too, at least at night, and it’s much brighter than projectors usually are at this price range. The 15W speakers pack quite a punch too, and they’re rear firing, which actually reflected really well and gave us a great sound. I’d still rather throw a soundbar in the front of the room, but for now, this was not just a fun projector, but actually a very competent one for the money.
