2022 Christmas Gadget Buying Guide

PDP Rock Candy Super Mario Edition Controllers

Gaming is big business, but you likely didn’t need me to tell you that. However, the cost of gaming is pretty high these days too, with game prices going up, and console prices not coming down. That’s why I love aftermarket controllers, they’re great for the kids, guests and even yourself when you don’t want (or need to) drop £70 on an official one.

These awesome Rock Candy controllers from PDP are really hot right now, often sold out online, but if you snoop around you can find them for around £18, while Amazon typically has them a little more expensive. They’re super bright and shiny too, and actually do look like a tasty candy. They come with Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, Bowser, Link and more on them too, so finding one that suits your taste is easy. They are wired, but for this price, you couldn’t ask for a better controller.

  • Vibrantly coloured polycarbonate shells feature fun artwork of your favourite characters
  • Ergonomically designed to fit hands of all sizes more comfortably
  • Sleek, concave thumb sticks allow for optimal precision
  • Includes a detachable 8-foot micro-USB cable for plenty of room to play
  • Officially licensed by Nintendo

For more information, please check the official product page here. Available now for £18-£25.

PDP Rematch Controller Radial While

Need something for your Xbox? While these are a lower budget controller compared to the official Xbox ones, they’re still very nice indeed. It comes with a gorgeous grey faded front plate and some very shiny red chrome style buttons and D-Pad. The Rematch really pops! Plus, it has a set of paddles on the bottom, which are programmable, and there’s even a free PDP Control Hub app that lets you tune the triggers, dead zones and more; these are great for competitive gaming!

For an officially licenced wired controller, the PDP Rematch is fantastic, and it’s pretty much unbeatable at this price range too.

  • Re-map buttons: reconfigure triggers: adjust dead zones and more with the free PDP Control Hub App
  • Built-in audio controls for quick mid-game adjustments and programmable back buttons for quicker responses
  • Laser-etched texture on grips; thumbsticks and triggers for comfort and accuracy
  • Includes 8-foot detachable USB-C cable for plenty of room to play
  • Officially licensed by Xbox

For more information, please check the official product page here. Available now for just £29.99.
