I love my headphones, I’m wearing them more often than not daily, from working at my desk to listening to audiobooks while I tidy or go for a walk, while out for some exercise, or on a train/flight to some event. However, while I love my over-ear and in-ear headphones, they’re not perfect for every scenario. There is a third option, and it’s wireless bone-conduction headphones.
Rather than sitting in your ear, these sit behind it and in front of your ear, transmitting sound directly to your inner ear bones through vibrations of your temporal bones. Why? Well, it means your ears are left naturally open, so you can hear everything around you. This is ideal for the office, much safer while you’re out for a jog or riding your bike, and since they’re IPX8 rated, you could even go for a swim while wearing them.
You don’t even need to pair them with your phone, as they have 8GB of storage built in, which is more than enough for a decent-sized playlist or a few audiobooks, so you can leave your heavy phone while working out.
Honestly, if you’re looking for a unique set of headphones that do things a bit differently, they’re pretty fantastic and while they’re not going to replace my daily music headphones, they fill a few specific needs, making them a handy tool to have at your disposal.
