Last year, I treated myself to the Netvue Birdfy feeder, and honestly, it’s been the heart of my garden ever since. This year, it felt like it was time for not just a second one, but a really awesome upgrade too. The new Birdfy Feeder Bamboo not only looks better, but it’s also more eco-friendly and really takes any garden space to the next level.
The bamboo design is more sustainable, but also just much prettier to look at. I love my Birdify Pro and its plastic design, it’s quite colourful and very durable, but there’s no getting away from the fact this looks more natural and pretty.
It still features the real star of the show, a Full HD camera with night vision and AI detection. This works like their security cameras and can detect package deliveries, people, cars, animals and more. However, it also can capture video clips of birds at the feeder and send you notifications to your phone, as well as tell you what species it is. I get little video clips all day of some greedy pigeons, robbins, blue tits and more, and it’s honestly really one of the highlights of my day.
Keeping with the eco-theme, the camera can be powered by a USB Type-C cable and on a single charge mine lasts nearly two weeks. However, you can also use their solar panel, which comes included with the Bamboo, and mine has been running off solar for a whole year now and the battery is still holding near full charge!
