Corsair RM1000e 1000W
Corsair may very well be the biggest name in PC gaming, with one of the most expansive product portfolios and a certainly one of the best reputations in the whole industry for great quality products and award-winning performance. With that in mind, their RM1000e is sure to be a prime choice for many system builders, as were the many versions of this PSU that came before it over the last decade and beyond! It’s packed with all the latest features and technologies, but we wouldn’t have expected anything less!
Features
- Fully Modular PSU: Reliable and efficient low-noise power supply with fully modular cabling, so you only have to connect the cables your system build needs.
- Dual 8-Pin EPS12V Connectors: For wide compatibility with modern graphics cards and motherboards.
- Keeps Quiet: A 120mm rifle-bearing fan with a specially calculated fan curve keeps fan noise down, even when operating at full load.
- 105°C-Rated Capacitors: Delivers steady, reliable power and dependable electrical performance.
- Modern Standby Compatible: Extremely fast wake-from-sleep times and better low-load efficiency.
It can deliver a 1000W of power, which is more than enough for any high-end gaming PC build these days. However, from my own testing, it was able to pull upwards of 1200W when needed, all while retaining some of the lowest ripple we’ve ever seen across all of the rails. This may not be important to most day-to-day PC users, but having very reliable, stable and accurate voltages can really help you fine tune your system when diving into particular overclocks, which will certainly add to the appeal for enthusiast system tuners.
Consistency is king here, and it does all this while delivering efficiency that was consistently between 90.9 and 93.8% with a near perfect power factory correction of 0.98.
Corsair has used excellent quality components in their latest PSU, with a single main bulk capacitor that’s more than capable of driving it to 1000W+ of power output.
However, I really appreciate that they’ve designed it so that any of the “standard” PCIe connectors can be used for the 12VHPWR connector, making it easy to chop and change cables to suit your requirements rather than rely on a dedicated 12VHPWR port.
