27-Inch IPS-Glass WQHD 60Hz OEM Monitor Review

Introduction

Even though the majority of consumers currently use 1080P displays, there are huge benefits to higher-resolution monitors including vastly improved picture quality and a better real estate which can heighten productivity. Technically, 2560×1440 and 4K products are becoming more affordable as manufacturing processes are optimised. This is especially the case for OEMs who often house these exceptionally detailed panels in a cheap enclosure to maintain affordable prices. Users on a very tight budget typically flock to these models, especially if they are re-sold by major retailers who can accept returns in a swift manner.

The latest monitor to arrive for review purposes features a 27-inch IPS panel with a protective glass cover. Furthermore, the screen has a refresh rate of 60Hz and 178-degree viewing angles. On another note, the panel is capable of displaying a whopping 1.7 billion colours with a brightness rating of 300cd/m2. Clearly, the monitor is designed for people who require astonishing colour accuracy and prepared to sacrifice on response times. Therefore, could this be the best budget 1440P monitor available right now for photography enthusiasts?

Packaging and Accessories

The monitor is sent in a relatively strong box which outlines the product’s specification in a concise manner.

Here we can see the panel is protected extremely well with numerous foam inserts. This should prevent the monitor from being scratched during transit.

In terms of accessories, the package includes a power brick, AC adapter and various display cables. Please note, these aren’t pictured because they didn’t arrive with the press sample I received.
