Stranger Things is Officially Confirmed For a Third Season

Stranger Things has officially been confirmed for a third season

Stranger Things has been one of those recent television phenomena. All around offices people all ask the same thing ‘have you watched Stranger Things yet?’.

Representing one of the now many excellent Netflix exclusives, the horror-themed series has quickly garnered itself a strong fan-base. When season 2 was announced it was peoples hopes that a strong-outing again could easily see this spin off into several years of production.

Before the initial announcement, Netflix took the very unusual step of asking the fans if they wanted a third season or not via Twitter. Following an overwhelming ‘yes’, they shortly followed up with an announcement that shouldn’t surprise anyone. Stranger Things has officially been renewed for a third season.

What can we expect from Season 3?

It’s hard to say. In a report via Polygon, the creators Matt and Ross Duffer has apparently been working on a third season since August. This is clearly well before the official announcement date. In addition to that, however, they also claim to have a fourth season already planned.

The brothers have always maintained that they ideally would view the whole production only lasting 4 seasons. The intention being that season 4 will be the final as a concluding story arc. Given that Netflix will have final say in that matter, however, will leave things a little curious if the show continues to pull in the viewers.

Netflix themselves do have a number of excellent shows on the go and subscriptions numbers are exceptionally good. Exclusive programs such as The Crown, Bojack Horseman and now Stranger Things have seen the service become an almost ‘must have’ for TV viewing.

The pulling of House of Cards will be a hit for the service. It was one of their most popular series. As such, Netflix will be keen to find more supporting programs to fill the void.

What do you think? Have you enjoyed Stranger Things? – Let us know in the comments.
