CyberPowerPC Ultra 5090 Custom Gaming PC Review

It’s easy to think “I’ll just build my PC myself” and well, there’s nothing wrong with that. Frankly, it’s easier than ever to get compatible components, and there are endless tutorials and guides on all the finer details out there, so you can build something pretty special. However, with CyberPowerPC, you can save yourself a weekend of shopping and building and have it delivered pre-made to your specifications, ready to rock.

CyberPowerPC Ultra 5090

Furthermore, the advantages of pre-built PCs are hard to ignore, such as knowing it was built by a professional, and that it comes fully tested, configured, and in some cases even overclocked. It also has a full system warranty, and options for repair and replacements that can often be a hassle to keep track of on a per-component basis when building yourself. There’s also cost, when system integrators reach out to brands, they have stronger buying power, allowing them to deliver a completed system for less than you could do it yourself; that doesn’t sound true, I know, but more often than not, it is a fact.

Custom Configuration

With their incredible configurator, which was updated late last year, you don’t just have to settle for a pre-set configuration either. You can tweak your choice of fans, lighting, cooling, case, PSU and so much more, all with the confidence that it’ll all be compatible with each other part. Of course, this will impact the price, and if you want to spec something lower, you could save some money, but there’s also the option to buff up the hardware if you have the budget for it. I must admit, I do enjoy going through the spec options and maxing them out sometimes, we can all dream sometimes. One thing I love about their build options is that they include overclocking, ranging from no overclock to Pro OC (10%), Extreme OC (20%), and Ultimate OC (30%), of course, you’ll need to spec a higher cooler as you go up, but that’s a given.

AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D & MSI RTX 5090 SUPRIM

As for the system we have here. It’s not quite as outlandish a build as the £4999.20 liquid cooled system that we reviewed a few months ago. However, with the combination of an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, a monstrous MSI GeForce RTX 5090 32G SUPRIM SOC graphics card, and a generous 64GB of DDR5 RAM, this machine is still a serious powerhouse. The Be Quiet Dark Rock Pro 5 air cooler, along with the Thermal Grizzly AM5 Contact Frame upgrade, should keep the CPU running cool even under heavy load. All of this is housed within the stylish Be Quiet Shadow Base 800FX case, powered by a reliable 1250W MSI MAG A1250GL PSU, and featuring a lightning-fast 4TB Corsair MP700 Pro PCIe 5.0 NVMe SSD for primary storage. This build balances high-end performance with a more traditional cooling solution, making it a compelling option for gamers and content creators who demand top-tier components without the complexity (or cost) of a custom liquid cooling loop. However, as I said, with their configurator, you can push the limits of the build further if you have the desire and budget to do so.
