A lighting show with Roccat’s Isku keyboard

Roccat Studios, a young yet successful gaming peripheral company based in Germany, has presented the release of their latest keyboard, the Roccat Isku.

Through intensive research and extensive design studies, the Isku meets the gamers’ requirements with incredible results, including the world’s first keyboard featuring Roccat’s ‘Talk’ and ‘Easy-Shift[+]’ functions.

Featuring the 123, medium-height, standard layout keys which provide optimum keystroke response and perfect pressure points making it a high quality gaming keyboard, and to make sure you’re always on the top even in the dark, Roccat has included its intelligent illumination system in blue with six adjustable brightness level and a Light Timer function for energy-saving settings which includes an off and a ‘standby’ option.

Roccat’s Easy-Shift[+] technology is a revolutionary system to help gamers with their macros, offering 36 easily customizable keys all of which positioned in the easy-to-reach WASD zone, setting them up is even easier: the Cap Lock key, rarely used by gamers, doubles as the Easy-Shift[+] key, although you can choose between the M1-5 macro keys on the left or the three Thumbster keys placed under the spacebar to be easily reachable by the thumb. Profiles can also be saved to a total of 5 instantly-loadable profiles and the anti-ghosting allows for multiple keys to be pressed simultaneously without lag thanks to its 1000Hz polling rate.

Roccat’s Talk is another of the great features present on the Isku. It allows communication between Roccat’s Kone[+] Max Customization Gaming Mouse and the Isku keyboard, a first that allows for more extended gaming functions. This new technology allows a single Easy- Shift[+] key or button to be used for both the mouse and keyboard, greatly simplifying macro use. When this feature is activated, the mouse lights up to give confirmation. The gaming is guaranteed lag-free to allow the gamer fast response time. All of these can be programmed to remained turn on until turned off manually.

The Macro Live! Recording button allows for on-the-go macro recording, offering a Sound Feedback feature to guide the gamer through the entire process, for a total of 500 actions on the 36 macro keys. All the macros can be edited outside the action using the Macro Manager software included.

For conformability, Roccat gives an extra-large wrist rest with it’s special granular texture allowing for fast yet comfortable movements. Moreover, 8 configurable media keys are present for a total of 25 function as well as the 12 programmable F-keys for even more customization.
