A.M.P Antec Mobile Products Review

Antec are fairly new to the mobile scene and it’s fair to say they’ve landed in the market with a sizeable bang. The PC market has been going through a tough time this last few years (just like every other industry) and it’s fairly common these days for manufacturers to broaden their horizons in terms of the products they produce. Devices like tablet PCs, iPads, smartphones, or just the simple fact that more of us have the need to be connected not only to each other but the rest of the digital world in our daily lives, has meant that the market is now flooded with digital devices of all shapes and sizes; the big PC component manufacturers aren’t going to want to be left behind the trend.

What we have here are a range of products that can diversify your mobile life and they do it with stunning performance throughout all my tests. First we have the SP1 speaker that means your portable music no longer has to sound lifeless and distorted, giving you the option to entertain no matter where you are. A pair of high quality wireless Bluetooth communication devices that exceeded my expectations, especially the full featured Iso, which is one of the best performing mobile heads sets I’ve ever had the opportunity to use. Yet for me the most important device of them all is the PowerUp 3000, it’s like the beating heart of all the mobile devices and it’s the one that I think would get the most use out of all the devices I looked at today.

The PowerUp 3000 is the perfect partner to not only the other Antec products here today, but any USB powered device and having the SP1 speaker, the Gain or Iso headsets and your headset with you on the move will be all the more enjoyable when you know you’ve got the extra power to keep them going, very handy if you’re away from home for an extended period of time, not to mention away from a plug socket.

They may not be the cheapest products in the mobile world, with the SP1 costing around £90, the Gain £35, Iso £90 and the PowerUp 3000 £30, but they are certainly some of the best performing and all offer great value for money in terms of performance & features vs price.

2013 is off to a good start and I look forward to seeing further developments in the mobile market. I especially look forward to further mobile product developments from A.M.P.
