A new mouse doubling as a game-pad from Shogun Bros

Shogun Bros have just released a new version of their Chameleon wireless gaming peripheral which mixes two different gaming devices into a single one: a gaming mouse and a game-pad to produce the Chameleon X-1.

While it may not blend in the wild, it will certainly blend into your gaming area. Shogun Bros as re-thought about some of the things from their last product and have improved the grip with a rubberised body and have specially build the internals to be more power efficient therefore obtaining longer battery lifetime. It is also said to have better feedback from its buttons. The connection between your computer and the mouse is assured through a USB nano-receiver.

The X-1 features a total of seven buttons and a 1600 DPI optical sensor, which doesn’t sound like much to be honest. Unfortunately for the left handed gamers, this version is right handed.

Turning it into the game-pad is child’s play, just turn it over and slide the switch, it will deactivate the sensor as well as the mouse buttons except  for a couple of side ones which will act as your left and right triggers and bumpers. The layout is typical of any other, with a D-pad, four face buttons, two sticks, your Start and Select buttons as well as a couple more.

Another side feature you may appreciate is its ability to be used as a remote control as well.

The Chameleon X-1 will be available starting October 1st for a price of $59.99.
