Ace of Spades PC Review

Graphics-wise this isn’t exactly the most demanding game on the market, far from it infact. If you can run Minecraft then you shouldn’t have much trouble here, so many mid range systems of the last 8 years should also be good. As you can see in the system requirements below, near any modern hardware is going to rip its way through this game with ease.
- Windows XP / Vista / 7
- 2.0 GHz +
- 2 GB RAM
- 800×600 Minimum Resolution
- OpenGL 1.5 Support or better
- Recommend use of dedicated graphics card (Nvidia Series 8800+ or ATI Radeon HD 3000+). Laptop/Mobility cards will vary.
- DirectX 9.0
- 350 MB HD space
- Broadband Internet connection
That’s not to say this is a bad look game though, the joy of having simple blocks for graphics is that you can make those blocks look really tidy and with a good dose of AA and AF dialled in, a nice high 1920 x 1080 resolution and a frame-rate well above 60FPS, this game looks fantastically crisp and colourful throughout.
There are a few draw distance issues that I ran into where the game fills in long range views with a little fog, but other than that, it’s all good.
It’s not going to win any awards for its realism, but I think we all knew that anyway, not unless you count a rectangle sniper rifle barrel as “realistic” of course.
