Acer Announces Aspire V5, Expands “Touch and Type” feature

With the introduction of the new Aspire V5 Series, Acer continues to bring touch and type to the mainstream segment. Designed in line with the current trend towards thinner and lighter notebooks that allow users to enjoy both entertainment and content creation anytime, anywhere, the new V5-561P comes with a built-in optical drive as there is are still a lot of customers who prefer to view and store content using an optical drive.

The Aspire V5-561P features an M-DISCTM enabled optical media drive, designed to save valuable content for up to several decades. This means it’s capable of storing data into the M-DISC to provide permanent storage of up to 4.7GB. In addition, the M-DISC is not vulnerable to failure like traditional DVDs and CDs, as it’s made up of a special layer that undergoes any permanent physical change not fading or deteriorating.

In addition, the Aspire V5-561P is equipped with a 15.6-inch HD LED-backlit, 10-point multi-touch display with Direct Bonding technology, which increases the effective contrast ratio, including the viewing and touch experience. Combined with a cool and fluid design, enriched by a large multi-gesture track pad, this touch notebook is perfectly designed to enhance content consumption and to take advantage of the features offered by Windows 8.

This new thin and light notebook series suits users looking to boost performance with up to 16 GB RAM for their daily entertainment, productivity and communication in a cool design anywhere, anytime.

Intel’s powerful Core processors based on Haswell micro-architecture delivers excellent performance and power efficiency for impressive multitasking and content creation, while the renowned AMD Radeon R7 and R5 discrete graphics offer multimedia enjoyment.

What’s more, the Dolby Digital Plus Home Theater surround sound effect technology takes the personal multi-media enjoyment to a higher level.

Users can enjoy all-round connectivity with HDMI and VGA ports to easily connect to an external display and files can be shared via the integrated USB 3.0 ports or SD card slot.
