Acer is known for manufacturing a large number of displays and maintaining respectable price points. The company’s latest product is the BE270U which utilises a 2560×1440 IPS display with 178-degree viewing angles. Additionally, the monitor has a 75Hz refresh rate, 100,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio and 350 cd/m2 brightness rating. Not only that, the product’s response time is a respectable 6ms which should be ample for most users. Rather impressively, the monitor is capable of 100% sRGB coverage and the integrated 2-watt speakers should output decent audio quality. Connectivity-wise, the display has a DisplayPort, Mini-DisplayPort, two HDMI MHL ports and a USB 3.0 hub.
The monitor’s ErgoStand supports 60-degrees swivel, -5 to 35-degrees tilt and 90-degrees pivot. Of course, you can easily mount the display to a wall and disregard the bundled stand. Acer decided to use small bezels which greatly enhances the monitor’s aesthetic appeal. The product also offers superb multi-tasking capabilities such as multi-streaming and picture-in-picture. In terms of pricing, the BE270U will retail for $499 and should be available from leading stores right now. The product’s three-year warranty on both parts and labour is a welcome addition and provides users with additional peace-of-mind.
