Wow. The original Acer Iconia A500 tablet was not that great when compared to other tablets on the market, most notably, the Apple iPad, ASUS Transformer and Samsung Galaxy Tab. But their latest tablet, the Iconia Tab A510 is ready to change all of that.
Not only will the Acer Iconia Tab A510 beat all of the competition that the A500 couldn’t, it’ll also kick the butts of the current- and even next-gen tablets such as ASUS’ Transformer Prime, and quite possibly, the upcoming iPad 3. How will it do that, you ask?
Well, first off the Iconia Tab A510 sports NVIDIA’s beast of a system-on-a-chip, the Tegra 3. Clocked in at 1.3GHz, those quad-cores will give the A510 the power it needs to topple the competition. On top of that, we’re looking at a massive 9800 mAh battery which will reportedly give the A510 tablet an 18-hour battery life off of a single charge. Impressive.
Acer’s sure-to-be-great tablet will also feature a 10-inch, 1280×800-pixel screen, microHDMI, microUSB, 5-megapixel front-facer, Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich as it’s super-duper OS, 32GB of storage, 1GB of RAM and a microSD card slot. All of this, including that gigantic battery all weigh in at just 675g. So, yes, it will weigh more than the competition, with the Transformer Prime weighing in at just 590g, but that battery life might just be worth the extra 85g.
