Acer Introduces New Predator Triton and Predator Helios Gaming Laptops

Acer has today announced an expansion to its gaming laptop line-up with three new designs featuring the latest Intel Core 13th gen processors and NVIDIA RTX 40 series GPUs. The new Helios Neo and Trion 17 X are designed for gamers and creators alike with powerful components and premium display options whilst the Triton 14 with a sleek understated design works for both work and play.

Acer Predator Triton 17 X

The Acer Predator Triton 17 X is Acer’s most powerful gaming laptop to date and pairs a sophisticated minimalist design with the latest high-end hardware. This laptop is designed for gamers and creators who want a thin mobile workhorse capable of handling the latest graphic-intensive games whilst also being able to handle resource-intensive work apps, all while retaining a strong lengthy battery life. The Triton features a slim design of less than an inch in height and has been meticulously crafted with a solid metal CNC unibody chassis which has been sandblasted and polished to provide a clean minimalist design.

Specifications

Within the sleek metal chassis are some of the most powerful components currently available with configurations of up to a 13th Gen Intel Core-i9-13900HX processor with an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 and up to 64GB of DDR5 5600Mhz memory with up to 4TB of SSD storage. Keeping this hardware cool is Acer’s state-of-the-art thermal solutions which keep the components cool under even the heaviest of loads. This thermal design features a vapor chamber that houses its compressed cooling system which is aided by a triple-fan cooling system. These fans are custom-engineered 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fans with wind-guiding structures which help achieve a 10% increase in airflow when compared to the previous generation fans.

Other Features and I/O

The Predator Triton X 17 also comes packed with plenty of other premium features including a per-key RGB keyboard, fingerprint reader, glass touchpad and a powerful DTS:X Ultra surround sound six-speaker system. When it comes to ports and connectivity the laptop boasts Intel Killer E3100G+ Ethernet and Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1690i as well as a full range of ports including Thunderbolt 4, USB, HDMI and an SD 7.0 card reader.

Predator Helios Neo 16

Acer’s next gaming laptop offering is its new Helios Neo 16 which includes the more powerful components that the Helios lineup is known for but at a more affordable price. Not only does the Helios feature the latest top-line components it also features laser-etched encrypted codes on its abyssal-black anodized cover and invites gamers to decipher the message. The Helios Neo 16 like the Triton offers high-performance 13th Gen intel core HX processors paired with up to an RTX 4070 GPU and up to 32GB of DDR5 at 4800 MHz and up to a 2TB PCIe NVMe SSD.

Stunning Visuals With Several Panel Options

With its high performance comes stunning visuals with several display options for the user. One of these options is a WQXGA (2560×1600) IPS display at 165Hz with a 3ms response time and the other option is a WUXGA (1920×1200) display again with a 165Hz refresh rate. Both of these displays cover 100% of the sRGB colour range and include NVIDIA Advanced Optimus and G-Sync

Predator Triton 14

The Predator Triton is Acer’s small but powerful option designed for both gaming and work. The Triton 14 includes up to a 13th Gen Intel Core i7-13700H processor paired with either an RTX 4070 or 4050 GPU and up to 32GB of 6000 MHz LPDDR5. In addition to this hardware, Acer have utilised a brilliant new 14-inch Mini LED display at 2560×1600 and boasts a blazing fast 250hz refresh rate and is DispalyHDR 600 certified.

Ports and Expansion

The Triton 14 features the latest Intel Killer Wi-Fi 6E AX1675i for unfettered speeds, and a full range of ports including a MicroSD card reader. The advanced cooling system, like the Triton 17, utilises the new 5th Gen AeroBlade 3D fan technology with Vortex Flow airflow optimisation which keeps the laptop cool despite its sleek portable design at just 0.78 inches.

Pricing and Availability

  • The Predator Triton 17 X (PTX17-71) will be available in North America in May, starting at USD 3,799; in EMEA in June, starting at EUR 4,499, and in China in May, starting at RMB 29,999.
  • The Predator Helios Neo 16 (PHN16-71) will be available in North America in May starting at USD 1,199; in EMEA in May, starting at EUR 2,199, and in China in March starting at RMB 7,999.
  • The Predator Triton 14 (PT14-51) will be available in North America in May starting at USD 1,499 and in EMEA in May, starting at EUR 2,399.
