Acer, along with countless other tech companies, are struggling right now. Everyday we hear about the successes and profits of Samsung and Apple growing, but companies like Acer are having a hard time getting a product out that consumers and critics alike, love.
Well, they hope to change things up a bit with their new Aspire S7 Ultrabook. The Aspire S7 is quite thin, measuring in at just 12.5mm thick, and its lid can lift up and bend back at 180 degrees, something quite great. The Aspire S7 also sports a touchscreen, and Windows 8. There should be two versions of the Aspire S7 released, an 11.6- and 13.3-inch model.
Acer claim that the 11.6-inch model sports a 9-hour battery life, while the 13.3-inch model touts a great 12-hour battery life. The S7 series also features a micro HDMI port, microSD card slot, Thunderbolt, and USB 3.0. With a starting price of $1,199, and those great battery life numbers, Acer sound like they’re onto something with the Aspire S7 Ultrabook.
I’ve been looking to replace my heavy-as-heck 17-inch Apple MacBook Pro, and this new Acer Aspire S7 Ultrabook is looking like a great contender.
