Acer are said to be releasing a $99 tablet in the early stages of the new year. According to the Wall Street Journal, the device is designed specifically to compete with “non branded” Chinese counterparts that are sold in many developing countries.
Acer’s Iconia B1 will feature a 7 inch 1024 x 600 screen with 1.2 GHz Processor. According to a Russian forum, this unit may have 512MB memory with 8GB inbuilt storage and Micro SD card support of up to 32GB and Android 4.1.2 Jellybean.
Google also may be interested in having a $99 Nexus tablet, most likely to be produced by Asus, but Asus do not have any plans to make a similar product.
