To date, while Acer has had its fingers in more than a new PC/laptop-related pies, they have never created a graphics card. That is, however, until now! – Following a post on their official Twitter account, Acer hasn’t just formally confirmed their entry into the GPU market, but they’re doing so with the launch of an upcoming custom Intel Arc A770.
And this announcement, just as a side note, makes them the third official AIB partner confirmed for Intel’s Arc series after ASRock and GUNNIR also confirmed custom designs either this week!
While Acer has confirmed the launch of their Arc A770 BiFrost graphics card, they, unfortunately, haven’t gone as far as to reveal any specifications or exactly how much consumers should expect this to cost. – In other words, for the moment, what you see is what you get. – With that being said though, although you’re free to differ, this is (in my opinion) one of the best-looking custom Arc A770 GPUs we’ve seen so far. Albeit, as noted above, so far we’ve only seen models from ASRock and GUNNIR and with the A770 (and A750) set for release on October 12th, it is starting to feel that these free AIB partners might be all we’re getting!
With Acer finally dipping their toe in the GPU market, however, it’ll be interesting to see what directions they choose to take in the future. I mean, are Acer custom Nvidia and AMD GPUs out of the question? It’ll be interesting to find out!
What do you think though? Are you looking forward to the release of Intel’s new Arc A770 graphics cards? If so, which model currently has your attention? – Let us know in the comments!
