Here’s an new entry in the ultrabook section, possibly a ‘real’ one this time, Acer’s second ultrabook, the Aspire S5. Due for a Q2 arrival, this ultrabook is only 15mm in thickness and weighs under 1.35kg.
Featuring an Onyx Black magnesium-aluminium alloy cover, a 13.3″ LCD screen and a chiclet keyboard, it’s powered by an Intel Core processor (Ivy Bridge?), a solid state drive as well as a MagicFlip I/O port panel that includes HDMI, USB 3.0 as well as the recent Thunderbolt.
Other interesting technologies from Acer is the Green Instant On, providing super fast booting and resume, as well as Always Connect solution, enabling users to ‘manage their multimedia and data on all their devices at any time, anywhere’.
No details on pricing, although it won’t be the only ultrabook in the spotlight, if you remember, CES 2012 is expecting over 40 new ultrabooks releases.
