The TimelineX series from Acer is a series known for quality, reliability and extended battery life. It is one of their more premium ranges of notebooks and laptops. They have revitalised this range by further increasing quality, reducing the size and weight of components as well as extending battery life. The range is to feature 3 new models, the 3830T (13.3″), 4830T (14″) and 5830T (15.6″).
The 3830T and 4830T will come equipped with a i5 2410M @ 2.5GHz and the 5830T strangely is equipped with a slower i3 2310M @ 2.1GHz. All three netbooks come with 4GB of DDR3 1066MHZ RAM installed. Also suprisingly they only support maximum resolutions of 1366 by 768 , even the 15.6″. Although it has been pointed out you can connect them to HD displays through the HDMI out should you wish to utilise the HD capabilities.
Other features of the range include a GT 540M for the 3830T but no DVD drive. The 4830T and 5830T both come with DVD drives but utilise Intel integrated HD graphics. Battery life is expected between 7-10 hours and they also come with 1280by1024 webcams.
Base models start at $799 for the 3830T, $600 for the 4830T and $599 for the 5830T. UK pricing is not known yet since no official UK launch date has been given however, it is expected soon.
