Acer’s biggest curved gaming monitor is now available for purchase and I can tell you, it isn’t cheap. But you also get quite the amazing piece of hardware for your money if you purchase the Acer XR382CQK. The XR382CQK could be considered a giant of a screen, at least when we think in monitor perspective and leave out larger TV screens. It features a massive 37.5-inch ultra-wide IPS panel with FreeSync technology.
The Acer XR382CQK is an ultra-wide monitor with a resolution up to 3440 x 1600 pixels and it offers a 2300R curvature. Along with its 21:9 aspect ratio, you’ll be able to truly immerse into your gaming and it should also be very well suited for movie watching.
While it isn’t the fastest monitor on the market, it still features nice numbers that should offer a sweet experience. It has a 75Hz refresh rate and a 5ms response time. True colours aren’t an issue for the Acer XR382CQK either as it comes with 100% sRGB coverage.
The stand is height adjustable and you can also tilt and swivel the monitor which in itself also comes with a very narrow bezel. Connection-wise, it features HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.2 along with four USB 3.0 ports and a USB Type-C port. The display inputs can also be used along with the built-in picture-in-picture and picture-by-picture modes which allow for two separate sources to be plugged into the monitor and shown at the same time.
The built-in 7W speakers with DTS sound will provide a pleasant audio experience on top of the great picture and the blue-light filter will ease the strain on your eyes. Users can also switch between various display profiles depending on the usage.
And now for the sad part. While the monitor is incredibly awesome and I’d surely love to have it on my desk, it will set you back $1,299.99 USD (about £1035). That’s a lot of money for a monitor, but you also get some great hardware.
