Activision Opens New Studio to Make Something Other Than Call of Duty

For the longest time Call of Duty has been Activision’s cash cow bringing in all the big money but with the state of the new Call of Duty games not being particularly great, it is only natural that they would like to try to open new income revenues.
Now Activision has revealed a new AAA studio that has been opened in Poland that will be making new AAA games that won’t be Call of Duty. This news although good couldn’t come at a worse time following the thousands of layoffs last week and the many studios that were forced to close down.
Activision New Studio
The new studio that is based in Poland was officially revealed on May 16th and is called Elsewhere Entertainment and according to Activision will be focused on a “new narrative-based,” “genre-defining AAA franchise.”
Activision also proudly states that Elsewhere Entertainment will have staff on board who have previously worked on games like The Last of Us, Uncharted, The Witcher, Cyberpunk, The Division, Destiny, and Far Cry.
It may still be a while before we know what games will be coming out of Elsewhere Entertainment but I do have high hopes and it’s good to see Activision not using another Studio to be worked to death making more CoD slop.
