Robin Williams, 63, was well known for his award winning acting and world class on-the-spot comedy. Unfortunately, this all came to an end on Monday as he was found deceased in his home – the cause being claimed as asphyxiation by suicide.
With most being left in disbelief and shock, it has been confirmed by the Marin County Sherrif’s Office in an official release.
The cause of death is somewhat surprising news to most of his fans – how could someone so funny and charismatic have the intention or carrying out such an act? Williams’ publicist, Mara Buxbaum, stated that he was battling with severe depression and we noticed he had spent some time in rehab recently.
His wife, Susan Schneider, sat down for a quick chat with The Wrap after this disheartening news:
“This morning, I lost my husband and my best friend, while the world lost one of its most beloved artists and beautiful human beings. I am utterly heartbroken. On behalf of Robin’s family, we are asking for privacy during our time of profound grief. As he is remembered, it is our hope the focus will not be on Robin’s death, but on the countless moments of joy and laughter he gave to millions.”
At the time of his death, WIlliams was also starring in a sequel to the smash-hit “Mrs. Doubtfire”.
In this time of mourning, it’s important to remember all that a person has achieved. What was your favorite Robin Williams moment? There’s certainly no looking past his amazing ad-lib work in “Good morning Vietnam!”
