Press Release

Technological innovation promotes sustainable development

ADATA believes that diversification is an important element in promoting sustainable development in society and it is also a core strategy of ADATA’s technology business operations. The company is committed to using its own strength to promote technological innovation and expand the boundaries of sustainable development including the launch of “a series of green storage concept products” to provide consumers with lower carbon and low energy consumption choices, the launch of “Taiwan’s first commercial electric tricycle” for the development of green logistics, and the development of the “C-Rob Autonomous Mobile Robot” to drive smart medical care.

ADATA regards the research and development of environmentally friendly products and services as its mission. In order to promote environmental protection and sustainable operation, ADATA has launched green storage products with cases that employ PCR plastic (Post-Consumer Recycled) as its main raw material. This series of products are all built on local materials and manufacturing to further reduce their carbon footprints, lowering carbon emissions by up to 48%. Packaging consists of FSC-certified (Forest Stewardship Council) materials, so the entire product is environmentally friendly, both inside and out, and a positive step to fulfilling ADATA’s ESG commitment.

The sustainable development of natural resources has drawn global attention due to increasingly severe global warming. The development of environmentally friendly products and services is one of ADATA’s goals. In order to improve the transportation efficiency of the logistics industry and reduce growing carbon emissions, ADATA launched the first commercial electric tricycle in Taiwan. This “zero-carbon emission” electric tricycle successfully provides a new solution for last mile delivery in the logistics industry.

In addition, ADATA and NTU Hospital Hsin-chu jointly developed the “C-Rob Autonomous Mobile Robot (C-Rob AMR)” to improve the efficiency of infection control through human-machine collaboration, establish a protective network for cleaning and disinfection, and protect the health of patients seeking medical treatment. ADATA hopes to promote the transformation and upgrade of Taiwan’s medical and technology industries through cross-sector innovation and is expected to further promote the sustainability of “human resources.”

Education for all ages to cultivate sustainable talent

ADATA believes that people are the bridge between corporations and society and the key to the sustainable development of enterprise. Over the years, the company has promoted education for all ages to nurture future pillars of society including the “ADATA Parent-child Art Contest” to cultivate cross-sector talent and the “Hummingbird Fund” to spread the DNA of sustainability.

ADATA believes that the development of STEAM – S (Science), T (Technology), E (Engineering), A (Art), and M (Mathematics) cross-disciplinary comprehensive education can cultivate talent with both technological and humanistic qualities. Since 2018, ADATA has held the “ADATA Parent-child Art Contest” annually. Through art, children can deeply root their creative thinking and practical science is integrated to cultivate the integration of knowledge and ability and to cultivate children to become future leaders.

Furthermore, “sports” is a common language across the world while rural primary schools have relatively few resources to invest in sports and physical development. Thus, ADATA established the “Hummingbird Fund” in 2022 to collaborate with education departments in counties and cities across Taiwan to sponsor the sporting equipment of elementary school sports teams in remote rural areas. Currently, the company has sponsored as many as 10 types of sports. In 2023, the Fund will also expand across the world including in the United States, Mexico, Brazil, and other locations. ADATA hopes to improve the global sports environment through the strength of the group.

Social participation to advocate for sustainable care

ADATA believes that the most direct way to give back to society is to actively engage in social care, participate in society from the starting point of “create unlimited influence and define the future of innovation through your own power,” and promote “act green, let care circulate” from neighborhoods and according to individual needs.

ADATA collaborates with industry, government, academia, and charitable organizations to care for the underprivileged, fostering a warm atmosphere that generates a positive cycle of care. On its 22nd anniversary, ADATA launched a global green challenge both online and offline, advocating for the public to collectively practice the goals of sustainable social development.

ADATA will continue to promote comprehensive sustainable actions to fulfill ADATA’s social commitment and lead the sustainable future that the public yearns for!
