ADATA DashDrive Air AE400 Wireless Storage Reader and Power Bank Review

When it comes to one device that covers many grounds, the DashDrive Air does exactly that and in a small package. As well as its wireless storage and battery pack, it is also a small wireless router for sharing a single Internet connection (ideal for when you’re in a hotel with paid WiFi as many are) and to top it off it can act as a USB SD card reader as well.
The compact size makes it ideal for slipping into your pocket or laptop bag and using on the go and the high capacity 5000mAh means you won’t get caught sort when you vitally need that extra bit of charge. I have to say that the unique styling with the honeycomb effect is something that I liked straight away, it’s different and adds a little extra style to the unit with its black body and metallic top. It’s not too heavy either, in fact given the battery capacity it’s a lot lighter than I was expecting which again makes it even more convenient when on the go as we don’t want our bags or pockets to be weighed down.
The simple to use button on top easily takes you through each of the units functions and the mobile app is also very easy to use – we did find that if you do change the storage medium whilst the device is still on, you will need to close and reopen the app as it doesn’t detect the change in medium, but this is not a a major problem in reality.
When it comes down to price, this is probably the area where the DashDrive Air excels. At a mere £60, you really are getting a lot for your money. Try buying a battery pack, wireless drive, travel router and card reader for that money, it’s not possible.
Bottom line, the AE400 is a compact, easy to use 4-in-1 device that is worth every penny that it can be had for. Save the cost of getting everything separate and get this instead.
