ADATA Debuts Rugged SC740 External SSD with Built-in USB-C Cable

ADATA Technology has just launched the new SC740 external SSD. They claim it is the industry-first built-in USB-C transfer cable design, and comes with a and corresponding storage clip. Of course, it’s not just about a little cable, as it comes with fast read/write speeds of up to 1,050/1,000 MB/s with a capacity of up to 2TB. Of course, as part of their Rugged series, it’s built for travel too, so if you’re out creating content in the lousy British weather, camping, road trips, international travel, etc, then it should easily soak up the troubles of your environment.

What ADATA Had to Say

The SC740 makes large file access a breeze and provides ample storage space. It is compatible with Android, macOS, Windows, and other operating systems, and supports file transfer and Apple ProRes video recording on the latest iPhone 16 series smartphones, providing an efficient and convenient storage solution for the modern digital lifestyle. The SC740 external SSD has a built-in USB-C transfer cable and features innovative cable stowage. Users no longer need to worry about forgetting to bring a cable when travelling. Just snap the cable into the retaining clip on the rear casing, and it transforms immediately into a convenient carrying handle. In addition to the integrated casing and transfer cable, the SC740 external SSD also conforms to the 1.22-meter MIL-STD-810G 516.6 drop and shock resistance standard, effectively protecting data security. The SC740 adopts ADATA’s most popular and classic design elements. A contrasting blue and black colour scheme is fashionable and sporty whether travelling, filming outdoors, or at the office. The SC740 is the most convenient and reliable storage option for consumers.

Supports iPhone 15 and Later Models, Ready to Record Apple ProRes Video

The SC740 external SSD supports the USB 3.2 Gen 2 standard and provides a read/write speed of up to 1,050/1,000 MB/s. Large files can be edited and accessed directly on the SC740. It also supports the Apple ProRes video format utilized by iPhone 15 and later series smartphones.

Record lifestyle videos directly to the SC740, and share files across devices and teams. The SC740’s Type-C interface can connect to different operating systems and platforms including Android, macOS, and Windows, seamlessly switching between work and play to efficiently complete the most important tasks at hand. It is also the most cost-effective solution for iPhone users who wish to expand mobile phone storage capacity. The SC740 external SSD is now available through global distribution channels in three capacities: 500 GB, 1000 GB and 2000 GB. All come with a global five-year limited warranty.
