ADATA has today launched their new LEGEND 970 PCIe Gen 5 M.2 SSD embracing the next generation in consumer SSD technology.
ADATA LEGEND 970 Gen 5 SSD
The new LEGEND 970 Gen 5 SSD adopts a PCIe Gen5 X4 interface, allowing this drive to reach speeds of up to 10,000/10,000 MB/s Read/Write, doubling the speeds of previous Gen 4 SSDs. Additionally, this drive is fully compatible with Gen 4 and Gen 3 slots but at lower speeds. The drive is equipped with an SLC cache algorithm and DRAM Cache Buffer providing unique advantages in system loading and data caching. The 232-layer 3D flash memory has been strictly selected to allow the LEGEND 970 to offer sizes of up to 2TB plus enable a variety of data protection and correction technologies to ensure a high Total Bytes Written (TBW) durability. Some of these technologies include the Low-Density Parity Check Code (LDPC) error correction mechanism and AES 256-bit high-level encryption technology to ensure the accuracy and security of data transmission.
Robust Cooling
Gen 5 SSDs demand robust cooling solutions to ensure that they continue to run at their expected speeds for the duration of their lifespan. The LEGEND 970 has been fitted with a double-layer extruded aluminium heatsink which features dense air ducts to divert hot and cold air. The micro-fan inside the heatsink quickly expels the hot air from both ends of the aluminium fins which reduces temperatures by 10% compared to fanless heatsinks.
