Back in June during the Computex technology show we got to see one of ADATA’s upcoming drives that offered USB3.0 storage with speeds yet to be seen. This comes in the form of the ultra-thin SE720 external SSD. Built around the same frame as the popular HE720 with a brushed aluminium finish, the case also offers a scratch resistant coating – making it ideal for users who are on the go.
Packed with some of ADATAs award winning NAND circuitry, the SE720 offers speeds of up to 400MB/s read and 300MB/s write, which as we can all tell is far superior to the speeds that any current hard drive can offer on a super speed USB3.0 platform. Over a HDD, the SSD also offers far superior shock resistance due to there being no moving parts within the storage medium and this consequently means that noiseless operation and very low-power consumption is also to be had from the now to be released model.
Like the HE720, the SE720 will offer up the same one-touch backup facility as well as a blue LED to indicate drive status and activity. There is no final word on pricing as of yet, however we do know that the drive will be available in a 128GB capacity.
