ADATA is one of the world leaders in high-performance and reliable storage. So it’s no wonder I’m really looking forward to putting their new legend 960 PCIe Gen4 x4 interface M.2 SSD through its paces. Support the latest NVMe 1.4 standard, it promises excellent read and write performance right out of the box. It doesn’t matter if you’re installing it in your notebook, PC or even your new console, the LEGEND has pretty broad support. Of course, just make sure you’re using a PCIe 4.0 or above to ensure you’re getting all of the performance on offer.
The ADATA LEGEND 960 promises sequential read and write speeds of 7,400/6,800MB per second, which makes it one of the faster consumer drives on the market today. That’s around 4x faster than many PCIe Gen3 drives, and around 13x that of a 2.5″ SATA SSD. It’s compatible with the PlayStation 5 and with a 2280 form factor, it should be broadly compatible with most motherboards and notebooks too. While I have the 1TB model in for review, this drive is available in up to 4TB variants should you need it. The addition of the LEGEND 960’s black heat sink design with bronzing trimming and sandblasted surfaces not only looks great but also promises to improve the overall cooling abilities of the drive, ensuring long-term performance.
