ADATA Releases the SD600 External 3D NAND SSD

ADATA already has a long list of both internal and external storage drives that all impress in one way or another in their area. That’s no different for the latest addition which is the portable SD600 external solid state drive built with 3D TLC NAND. The choice of NAND allows ADATA to release a 256GB and a 512GB version of the drive at an affordable price and with a great performance.
The USB powered drive comes in two colour options, black or red and black, and which you pick is only down to your personal preference. The 90 gramme light drive is compatible with Windows, Xbox One, PS4, and Android systems without the need for extra drivers, so there’s plenty of choices where to use it. The sporty design already gives it away, it’s a durable drive too. It is made with impact resistant materials to increase its resistance against nature’s elements – and that includes the user.
Performance wise, the ADATA SD600 can deliver read speeds up to 440MB/s and write speeds up to 430MB/s and that’s only the limit due to the USB 3.1 Gen.1 connection. Inside, it uses both DRAM cache and SLC cache to deliver those speeds and make sure that the performance stays steady throughout your connection and file transfers. With speed like this, you could transfer a 5GB video file in just 26 seconds.
ADATA didn’t reveal any pricing nor availability at this time, but we will keep you updated with these pieces of information as they appear. For now, we know that the 8cm by 8cm drive will be backed by a 3-year warranty.
What kind of portable storage are you using? Mechanical drives or SSDs? Or maybe you are just using USB flash drives and memory cards? Either way, have you invested in extra rugged drives or are ordinary desktop models fine for you? We’d sure like to hear.
