Storage and memory manufacturer ADATA has launched the latest addition to their super durable storage series called the XPG SD700X external SSD drive with 3DNAND. It has the same dimensions as the previously released SPG SD700 measuring 83.5 x 83.5 x 13.9 mm / 3.3 x 3.3 x 0.5″ and even weighs the same at 100g/3.5oz, but it is specifically designed to expand console storage.
The XPG SD700X is available in a red/black color scheme and in 256GB, 512GB and 1TB capacities. It uses a USB 3.1 interface that is also backwards compatible with USB 2.0 devices, but it has up to 440/430MB/s read/write performance on the latest platforms. Inside are TLC 3DNAND flash which are more efficient than previous generation 2D NAND.
Like the SD700, the SD700X is also IP68 rated for water (up to 1.5m deep) and dust protection, with military-spec 516.6 drop/shock resistance.
